May 7, 2020 NOTICE – St. Clair Township Campgrounds Update re. Covid-19:

With the Government of Ontario’s extension of the Declaration of Emergency and closure of all communal or shared, public or private, outdoor recreational amenities everywhere in Ontario, we are asking for No unauthorized entry on the grounds of Mooretown, Cathcart, Branton-Cundick Campground for any reason.

Under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, the province ordered the mandatory closure of all non-essential businesses. Seasonal campgrounds are not listed as essential services and were required to be closed as of 11:59 PM on Saturday, April 4th, 2020.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and as of now the May 1st campground opening date has been postponed until May 19th to coincide with the provincial order.  Invoices for the 2020 seasonal camping will not be issued until the opening date, along with potential limitations on services, are determined.

Transient Camping for 2020:

At this time, all three campgrounds are going to remain closed to transient camping for the rest of the 2020 Season.  This decision was not made lightly but with the restrictions that are currently in place and the Premier’s plan of slow opening of Ontario, we felt when we are allowed to open it is crucial to open the campgrounds safely for our staff and seasonal campers.

Reservations for Transient Camping for 2021:

Reservations will be taken on the “new” campground opening date which will be posted as soon as we know, on our website and Moore Sports Complex facebook page.

We will continue to update the status of the campgrounds through the St. Clair Township Community Services website and Facebook page.

Please refrain from visiting your trailer for any reason during the declaration of emergency (now extended to May 19 per above).

We want to ensure all our members and users understand that they are our primary focus at this time, and we are hopeful that this position is a temporary situation.

Any proration will be done when we are able to begin providing services and the remaining credit will be placed on the account. For us to process your refunds (if you so choose) please follow the below steps:

1. Have your original receipt available for reference numbers

3. Please call the Sports Complex at 519-867-2651

Please understand that we will process your program refund at any time during this situation – we want to ensure our customers that the Mooretown Sports Complex wants to best serve you. Although we hope to continue to be a valuable part of your home, if you decide that recreation is not a top priority we understand completely.

Memberships:

If you have a membership with us then please understand that we will be extending ALL memberships by the number of days which we have been closed to the public – there is no need to place your memberships on hold during this time.
